The ground is dry. The last few miles of elevation were not particularly hard, but it is now getting hot.

I am getting to be really confident. I was in the front of the pack the first day, I was still in fifth place but, just as soon as I reached the middle of the first flat section, my pace died out. My confidence was going down and that is where I started to start feeling uncomfortable. I had been able to focus and focus and this was it.
That is why I went slow for the second day. It was hard, but, in my mind, I needed to get this run over with fast, because I've missed the opportunity to make it back into the top 10 or so, I think, but now I have to get out to where I need to. My strategy is just to sit back, be as patient as I can, wait for the next flat section but, at the same time, be ready to go fast after the first flat section in my mind.
I feel really good about this run. The first few hundred metres I feel very strong and have my foot in it with some pretty good speed and then, with some distance, I start to lose confidence. When I go really hot in the legs, it's not like I don't have the confidence to do it, but, at the same time, it's very dangerous. I have to work on this and, once that happens, it's pretty much over.
I started the course in very good shape. I'm looking forward to coming back.

I get to the start line and when I go down on the starting line, I don't stop. I was feeling pretty good the whole day, I didn't need any rest. I made it to my last kilometre and then I heard it. It was, 'Oh, good morning, Mr Hoggard'. I looked up and it was like, 'Oh, I guess so'.
I came to my first aid station in the middle of the day to have them try my ankle and leg muscles and, after that, I did what I needed to do.

Dardanup shire warns against forced mergers
Paddy O'Sullivan, Dardanup shire chairman, said the proposed mergers were against the common good.
Mr O'Sullivan said the proposed mergers would have been good for the shire if they had been proposed by the members of the board.
He said they had no reason to be concerned and no one should be taken to be saying that the merger was a threat to the Dardanup shire.
The Dardanup shire was founded at the end of the second world war, and its members came to be known as the T-shirts.
